KKR on Day 1 purchased their inform batsman Venkatesh Iyer at INR 23.75 Crores, which is their 2nd-highest purchase after Starc in IPL 2024 Auction. Venkatesh Iyer was considered an overpriced buy because KKR never used Venkatesh as an all-rounder, there’s a possibility that KKR might be looking at Venkatesh as their skipper.
Later, KKR fixed their wicket-keeping slots with Quinton and Gurbaz, already packed with prominent all-rounders then they worked to form their bowling unit after losing Starc to Delhi Capitals but settled with Nortje instead. Now they will proceed towards Day 2 with a mere purse value of INR 10.05 Crores with at least 6-7 slots to fill.
