Possible IPL 2025 RCB Retained Players List

One of the franchises with the biggest fanbases, RCB holds several records in the IPL. Standing at the third position for qualifying for the playoffs for the most number of times they have been quite a successful team but not fortunate enough to win the trophy.

Since the inception of the IPL, they have had some great players in the team, including Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, Anil Kumble, Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Dale Steyn and a few others. They had an incredible tournament in 2024, especially in the latter half of the tournament where they won all 7 matches to qualify for the playoffs. Sadly, the team underperformed and was knocked out by Rajasthan Royals. However, they found some good players who can be a part of the next season for the team.

Bangalore will go into the IPL 2025 Auction with a heavy purse of INR 98 Crore after retaining these mentioned players and will bid big for some players and also try to retain their core team.

Let’s look at the Possible IPL 2025 RCB Retained Players List:

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the first name that automatically comes up when there’s a talk about RCB. One of the greats of IPL, Kohli has numerous IPL records such as having over 8000 runs, a stellar season of 973 runs, most IPL centuries, and many more. His passion for the game and hunger to win matches makes him different from the others.

Kohli has been an integral part of RCB and is most likely to be their first retention at INR 18 Crore. The number of incredible innings that he has played for the franchises, and the countless memories that he has given is enough to justify his retention spot. The leading run-scorer of the IPL, Kohli’s ability to play the game as required makes him an outstanding player. Having retired from the T20 international, he will be continuing his T20 career in IPL.

Yash Dayal

Picked by RCB in 2024, Yash Dayal proved his selection right by giving some good performances in the last season on the tough Chinnaswamy pitches. His final over against CSK will surely go down in the history of IPL as one of the finest redemption stories. Yash Dayal’s belief in himself is perhaps his biggest strength and it is reflected in his bowling.

Picked by BCCI for the Bangladesh series, Yash Dayal didn’t get a chance to show his talent in the red-ball cricket. However, his performances in the last season are likely to favor him as an uncapped player retention at INR 4 Crore.

His hit-the-deck bowling troubles the batsmen and the angle makes it difficult for them to hit. His death-over bowling has improved significantly and will play a vital role in the success of RCB in the coming seasons.

After having a tough and unforgettable IPL 2023 season, kudos to the RCB management for backing the abilities of this upcoming left-arm youngster.

Players who could be Picked through RTM by RCB management for IPL 2025:

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar IPL

One of the cleanest strikers of the ball, Rajat Patidar provides stability to RCB’s unstable middle order. His ability to take down spinners and score boundaries easily makes him an ideal candidate for retention through RTM. His exploits in the IPL, for RCB, will be in the mind of the management and they won’t mind paying him a good sum to avail his service for the next few seasons or more.

Since Dinesh Karthik retired from the IPL last season, Rajat could fill in the boots of Karthik as wicketkeeper-batsman. His role as a keeper will become vital in the right use of DRS to benefit the team. RCB would like to have his service and hope for a trophy-winning season.

Mohammad Siraj

One of the trusted bowlers of RCB, Siraj’s rise has been phenomenal. Siraj’s ability to swing the new ball makes him a threatening bowler. A competitive player on the ground, Siraj likes to bowl with his heart out and give the best for the team.

Perhaps the best bowler for RCB in the last 2-3 years, Siraj is most likely to be retained using an RTM card. The management won’t let Siraj go and make a blunder just like Yuzi Chahal. Backed by Kohli and the management, Siraj has been the leader of RCB’s bowling unit for quite some time. His experience in the team will be fruitful for the players coming into the squad.

Will Jacks

Will Jacks and Virat Kohli IPL

Will Jacks, a hard-hitting batsman, turned the tables for RCB last season and was a vital part of their qualification to the knockouts. His terrific knock against Gujarat Titans was one of the best seen in recent times in the IPL and makes him an ideal candidate for retention over Glenn Maxwell through RTM.

If Faf is not retained by the RCB management, Jacks can open the innings alongside Kohli and give a strong start to the team. His aggressive approach and making the best use of the powerplay overs will help RCB set the stage for the next batsmen.

Akash Deep

An integral part of the Bengal team in the domestic circuit, Akash Deep’s ability to pick wickets at a regular interval will most likely get him retained using RTM. Bought at a base price of INR 20 Lakh in IPL 2022, Akash Deep has played merely 8 matches and picked 7 wickets. He has been an expensive bowler for RCB going at an economy of above 11.

However, his recent performances in domestic tournaments show the maturity he has gained in the last couple of years. RCB may risk betting on him for another couple of years or more and hope for a better comeback from Akash Deep. If Akash Deep had a good season, we can see a good Indian bowling lineup in RCB, something they have been lacking for so long.

With these retentions, RCB could go into the auction with a grand purse of INR 98 Crore and will have the luxury to outbid many other franchises for a particular player. The management, in this auction, will hopefully pick horses for courses and not players merely on reputation.
