Recently, BCCI has declared the Indian cricket team squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 which has been scheduled from 28th August 2022 to 11th September 2022.
The Indian team has some surprising names and a few big names missing as well. Players like KL Rahul, Virat, Ashwin, Hooda, Bishnoi, and Avesh, have been included and the names like Bumrah and Harshal have not been included due to injuries.
Deepak Chahar is now available as a reserved player after a long break due to an injury.
First of all, have a look at the officially declared Indian squad & Reserve list:
Asia Cup 2022: Official Squad & Reserve Players
Squad: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan.
Reserve: Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar.
It was very surprising to see that selectors ignored Ishan Kishan even from the backup list. Most of the fans were astonished to see Shreyas Iyer’s name inside the reserved list, selectors may have given preference to Deepak Hooda who showed his aggressive class in recent times along with his off-spin bowling skills. Deepak Chahar will be available as a backup swing bowler and Axar Patel as a spin allrounder.
The squad has been declared, so we have got the team India’s best possible Playing 11 for the upcoming Asia Cup.
Wicket-Keeper: Rishabh Pant
Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav.
All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Predicted Batting Order:
Rohit, Rahul, Virat, Suryakumar, Rishabh, Hardik, Jadeja, Bhunveshwar, Avesh, Arshdeep, and Yuzvendra.
The inclusion of both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik seems complicated, if both are included then Team India will have to either drop someone from the top or go with a 5 bowling combination including Hardik Pandya’s spell.
