Asia Cup 2022: Team India Squad and Playing 11 Prediction

A few days are left from the official announcement of Team India’s squad for Asia Cup 2022. Team India is currently playing their last T20I series that is against West Indies before the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, now we are already in the situation to look at Team India’s most probable confirmed playing 11 and the squad for Asia Cup 2022.

The return of senior players will also create a headache for the selectors to whom to include and drop from the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 squad. Regular members like KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Jadeja will most probably be back in the action.

As per sources, a 15-member squad will be announced for the Asia Cup 2022, along with that selectors may also declare 3 reserve players in case of any injury or covid related concerns.

Team India’s most probable 15-member Squad and Reserved Players for the Asia Cup 2022:

Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav.

Rohit and Rahul are the first-choice openers so Surya has to bat in the middle after the inclusion of KL Rahul. Virat Kohli’s best possible batting place has always been at number 3 followed by Surya at number 4.

Wicket-Keepers: Rishabh Pant, and Dinesh Karthik.

India will have to ponder about the place of either Rishabh or DK in the playing 11. The roles of both the batsmen have been different but, the inclusion of both will be a little difficult task for the management.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Deepak Hooda.

Pandya and Jadeja are the prime all-rounders of the current Indian T20I side so, the inclusion of both will be a big positive for the team. Their contribution in both departments is always required but especially their bowling provides other opportunities as well. Most probably, Hooda will be benched but will be present with the main squad.

Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Bumrah, Bhuvi, and Yuzi are the main bowlers of the current Indian T20I side so their exclusion does not make any sense from the playing 11. If we look at Arshdeep, India has got a very good left-hand pacer who has got some amazing death-bowling skills as well. The inclusion of Avesh Khan may be in case of an extra bowler is needed, he has been a good wicket-taker in the power plays. Swing master Bhuvi will take charge of the powerplay, Bumrah-Arshdeep slog, and Chahal middle overs.

Reserved Players: Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi.

Ishan Kishan who looked very positive during the South Africa tour could be the best possible batsman in case of any replacements. Axar Patel is a left-handed all-rounder, who can make his way into the squad in place of any all-round or spin replacement. Ravi Bishnoi could be the best choice for leg spin replacement in the squad. Ashwin could also be part of the reserved players in place of Axar or Bishnoi.

Best Possible Playing 11:

Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

It was all about Team India’s squad and Playing 11 predictions, for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.
