Champions Trophy 2025 India Schedule, and All Set to Go Ahead

The possibility of the Champions Trophy 2025 taking place in Pakistan has been put to an end. The recent meetings on December 19 regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 saw Pakistan accepting the hybrid model under certain conditions.

Pakistan demanded that all the India-Pakistan matches hosted by India in the 2025 to 2027 cycle supposed to be played at a neutral venue which are ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, Men’s Asia Cup 2025, and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. BCCI also accepted their proposal, and then both the boards gave their approval to go ahead with the tournament’s announcement.

Final Verdict on the Conduction of the Champions Trophy 2025

The decision on the Champions Trophy 2025 settles down the nerves of the boards and broadcasters as the schedule can now be easily framed. Originally scheduled to commence on 19th February till 9th March, India is likely to play their matches at a neutral venue. However, the neutral venue has not been confirmed yet. It could be either Sri Lanka or Pakistan.

Conflict Between the Two Boards Delayed the Announcement of the Tournament

Pakistan has constantly been providing surety of conducting a safe and smooth tournament. However as stated by BCCI, the Indian government has not permitted to go to Pakistan, which caused conflict between the two cricketing boards. BCCI has often highlighted the point of changing the venue or proposing a hybrid model for the tournament. The political conflicts between the two have been a longtime issue for the smooth functioning of ICC tournaments in Pakistan.

Further delay in the tournament announcement would have caused trouble for ICC because as per some sources investors have also appealed for a change in the format of T20 cricket to compensate for the time lost for advertisement purposes of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
