The men’s Indian Cricket Team could not win an ICC T20 World Cup Trophy since winning it in the first 2007 edition. Being favorites in every edition, Team India lost 7 editions after 2007 and including a missed close chance in 2016 when they reached the finals. It is come to know through some media sources that BCCI is planning to have a completely separate squad, especially for the T20 Internationals.
India is a hub of talented cricket players, every year there is always a player who surprises everyone with his skillset in the world’s toughest T20 tournament which is the Indian Premier League (IPL). BCCI should not face any trouble while forming a new squad for the T20I cricket but, they will have to groom a particular set of players and also provide them enough time with opportunities to prepare them for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Indian Cricket Team Strongest Squad for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka
It is expected that if a new T20I squad is formed, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be likely to lead the side. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and many others will put more focus on the ODI and Test internationals. Hardik Pandya also has experience leading his IPL side Gujarat Titans and also won the maiden edition in the first year as well. And, there is a possibility that some of the players from the newly formed T20I side may also be included in other formats as well.
